Frequently asked questions

What is an Irrevocable Transfer Certificate (AVI)?

The Irrevocable Transfer Certificate, known in French as the attestation de virement irrévocable or AVI, is the document proving to the consulate that you hold the resources required for your student visa. A bank certifies that the amount is blocked and will be transferred to your account once you are in France. Alongside the blocked account, it is the most commonly requested proof of funds in a Campus France application. EDUFREM issues it within 48 working hours, at the threshold in force.

How much do I need to prove?

Since 1 August 2026 the threshold is 877.50 EUR per month, roughly 10,530 EUR for a year, up from 615 EUR previously. It is now indexed to 47 % of the French gross minimum wage and will follow its revaluations. Applications filed before 1 August 2026 remain subject to the previous amount. EDUFREM secures the threshold applicable on your filing date, and adjusts it if your tuition fees exceed it.

How long does the certificate take?

48 working hours after we receive your complete file: identity documents, admission letter and guarantor details.

My school is not an EDUFREM partner. Can you still help?

Yes for the certificate: it can be issued for any admission in France accepted by Campus France, whether or not the institution is a partner. For paying tuition directly to the school we first qualify the institution, which takes a variable amount of time. In the meantime your funds stay secured in your EDUFREM space.

Can I pay for part of it after I arrive?

Yes. Airport pickup and settling-in support are delivered in France and are paid on arrival, which lightens the budget before departure. Everything that happens before you leave is paid before you leave.

Is anything free?

The 30-minute diagnostic call, career coaching, and all the guidance material in your student space: choosing a course, building your Études en France application, preparing your visa request, practical advice on settling in. No commitment, no payment.

Do you handle the payment of my tuition fees?

Yes. We transfer your deposit straight to the school, with a commission on the amount, and every transaction is traced through to the service delivered. The money does not pass through an intermediary you cannot check.

A student visa is won on the file.

Thirty minutes to go through your situation, start your proof of funds and plan the payments. For the student, for the family, for whoever is funding the move.
