MAPO · School management software

Your school, better run, paid by Mobile Money, even without a network.

MAPO is the school management software built for schools in francophone Africa: students, terms, grades and report cards, attendance, timetable, and above all tuition fees, paid by Mobile Money, with recovery of unpaid fees and OHADA-compatible financial statements. Bilingual, SMS and WhatsApp messaging to parents, and everything keeps working even without a network.

Francophone Africa first

From primary
to higher education.

Built for primary schools across francophone Africa: pupil and teacher terminology, structure from the first to the final primary year, subjects grouped by domain (competency-based approach), and a termly report card in A / ECA / NA or an average out of 20, your choice. Offline, Mobile Money payment, and parent communication by SMS and WhatsApp.

Dashboard

A real-time overview: enrolment, attendance, fee recovery and the overall health of your school, at a glance.

Pupils & enrolment

Records of pupils, parents and guardians, profile tracking (scholarship holders, vulnerable pupils). The backbone of school life.

Classes & subjects

Organisation from the first to the final primary year, subjects grouped by domain (competency-based approach), teacher assignment and live class occupancy.

Grades & report cards

Competency-based assessment with a termly report card in A / ECA / NA, or an average out of 20 (the school's choice), generated and printed in one click.

Attendance & school life

Daily roll call, absences and lateness, SMS alerts to parents and tracking of pupils in difficulty.

Timetable

A visual timetable for each class, automatically shared with families.

SMS & WhatsApp messaging

A direct channel to parents by SMS and WhatsApp: summons, results, payment reminders, in French and English.

Tuition fees & Mobile Money

Collect fees by Mobile Money (Orange Money, MTN MoMo, Moov Money, Wave), automatic receipts, reminders and fewer unpaid fees, in local currency.

One interface per role

Every school role,
its own view.

Management, teachers, front office, finance, supervision, catering: everyone sees what concerns them, nothing more. Management activates modules and sets permissions without calling us. Families are not in MAPO at all: they have their own application.

Management

Full access, school-wide dashboards, reports, exports, year rollover. The only role that cannot be edited.

Teachers

Their classes only: grades, attendance, homework, lesson planning, messaging. Optimised for mobile and tablet, usable offline.

Front office

Student records, enrolment, timetable, start-of-year import, discipline. No access to payroll or to roles.

Finance

Invoicing, collection, financial statements, payroll. Management decides who sees what, module by module.

What sets MAPO apart

Built for the African field,
not adapted afterwards.

Built for Africa, not adapted afterwards

MAPO is not a translated Western product. It is designed from the ground up for African schools: terms, bilingual report cards by section, OHADA-compatible financial statements, fees in local currency and unstable connections. The field first, not as an option.

Collects tuition by Mobile Money

Families pay fees with Orange Money, MTN MoMo, Moov Money or Wave, directly inside MAPO. Automatic receipts, reminders, real-time tracking of unpaid fees and treasury. The real lever for fee recovery.

Works without internet

MAPO is offline-first. Your teams enter grades, mark attendance and collect fees even without a connection. Everything syncs the moment the network returns. No blocking during power or network outages.

Actually reaches parents (SMS and WhatsApp)

In Africa, families are on WhatsApp and SMS, not e-mail. MAPO sends summons, results and payment reminders through the channels they really use, in French and English.

Installs like a native app

MAPO is a PWA. Your teams install it in one click on their phone, tablet or computer. No App Store, no updates to manage. Always the latest version, automatically.

Quick start with an Excel import

Already have your students, classes and staff in Excel? MAPO imports your existing files in minutes. No double entry, no forced reorganisation.

Payment from abroad in educational credits

Families living abroad pay tuition in EDUFREM educational credits. The school is paid directly in local currency, with no transfer fees and no banking middleman.

Tamper-proof diploma issuance

Your MAPO setup natively includes EDUFREM's verifiable diploma module. At each graduation, your students receive a cryptographically signed diploma in their personal vault.

MiAPO, the built-in AI

MiAPO, where AI truly
lightens the load.

The bottleneck for schools is not the software, it is staff time and the communication barrier with families. MAPO embeds MiAPO to ease admin work and cross the language and network barrier, without ever blowing up costs.

Assistant & support

Available

An assistant answers common questions from families and staff. The visitor assistant is already live on edufrem.com; in-app support inside MAPO comes next.

WhatsApp & SMS messaging

Coming soon

Reach families where they really are: WhatsApp and SMS first, and voice for the least connected families. Crossing the language and network barrier.

Lightweight LMS with AI

Coming soon

Lessons, homework and quizzes tuned for low bandwidth. AI generates quizzes, marks automatically (including scanned handwritten papers) and tutors the student.

Skills passport & guidance

Coming soon

An enriched student profile (6C skills, not just grades) feeding contextual guidance aimed at paid employment. Starting in Cameroon.

Merit & scholarships

Coming soon

Spot deserving students beyond grades, with a documented and transparent framework. AI stays a decision aid: the human decides, never the algorithm.

Our guardrails, non-negotiable

Frugality

Designed for limited cost and connectivity. No gimmick AI that blows up the bill.

Degraded mode

The school keeps running offline and through outages. AI never blocks day-to-day work.

Transparency

Criteria are explainable and the human stays in charge on sensitive matters. AI assists, it does not replace.

Bias vigilance

A framework validated elsewhere is not necessarily valid locally. Every model is adapted to the context.

What's coming

A roadmap that stays
close to the field.

MAPO moves forward in useful building blocks, in the order that truly changes life in schools. Here is what we are working on.

Dropout tracking

Coming soon

Detect students slipping away early from attendance and results, and raise the alert before it is too late.

National exams

Coming soon

Preparation and tracking of official exams, aligned with the real calendar of your schools.

School logistics

Included, at no extra cost

You equip the school.
Families get their own app.

Parents and students do not work inside a management system: that is not their job. They have MAPO+, their own revision app. And it is your school that opens it for them, automatically, with three months of the full offer for every family.

01

The school approves an enrolment.

Nothing else to do. MAPO+ access is prepared for the family, with the school name, the child's first name and class already filled in. The front office generates no code by hand.

02

The family gets a link, not a form.

The parent opens it, sees the school and their child's first name before typing anything, then picks a username and a password. That is all. Many families have no email address, so the link can also be shared in one gesture over WhatsApp.

03

The teacher's lesson becomes the revision material.

Once linked, the student finds their own school's homework, lessons, timetable and reports at home. Revision sheets are generated from their teacher's actual lesson, never from generic content.

04

The school sees what is worked on at home.

This is the return journey: independent revision is reported back to the school. Teachers finally know what their students revise alone, and where they get stuck, without having to ask.

Why this changes things

The revision apps that already exist are good, and some are huge across francophone Africa. But they work blind: they know neither your teacher's lesson, nor the student's report card, nor their timetable. They serve generic content to a student they do not know. Here, revision starts in your classroom and comes back to it. That is the one thing a tool disconnected from the school cannot do.

Questions from school leaders

Before you try MAPO.

What are the three MAPO editions?

The primary edition is built for primary schools (first to final primary year, competency-based approach, termly report card in A / ECA / NA or out of 20). The secondary edition equips middle and high schools (sequences, bilingual sections, discipline, exams, fee recovery in local currency). The higher education edition is built for universities, business schools and BTS (LMD system with Doctorate, course units, credits, examination boards, student accounts). You choose the one that fits your institution.

Is MAPO suitable for primary schools?

Yes, through the dedicated primary edition: pupil and teacher terminology, structure from the first to the final primary year, subjects grouped by domain (competency-based approach), and a termly report card in A / ECA / NA or an average out of 20, the school's choice.

Does MAPO do the school's accounting?

No. MAPO is not accounting software. It shows your school's financial statements (income, recoveries, unpaid fees, net result, real-time treasury) to make your tracking easier. For official accounting, your MAPO exports, compatible with the OHADA chart of accounts, are sent to your accountant.

How does offline mode work?

MAPO stores locally all the data needed for everyday work. Your teams keep working during a network outage, and MAPO syncs automatically as soon as the connection returns. No data lost.

How long does it take to get started?

Plan for 2 to 4 weeks depending on the size of the school: importing your existing data and configuration, training the administrative teams, then a gradual rollout to teachers and parents. We support every step.

How much does it cost?

The price depends on the size of your school and the modules you enable. For pilot schools joining the EDUFREM ecosystem this year, preferential terms apply. Personalised quote after a conversation.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit, hosted on Firebase (Google Cloud). EDUFREM complies with the GDPR for student and family data. You remain the owner of your data and can export it at any time in Excel or PDF.

Does MAPO use artificial intelligence?

MAPO is designed to bring in AI where it truly reduces the workload: assistant and support, multichannel messaging, LMS, guidance. An assistant is already live on edufrem.com; the other modules arrive step by step. Our principles are constant: frugality (controlled cost and connectivity), degraded offline mode, and transparency, AI assists but the human stays in charge on sensitive matters.

Can tuition be paid by Mobile Money?

Mobile Money payment (Orange Money, MTN MoMo, Wave, Moov) in the Finance module is on our roadmap: it is the real lever for fee recovery in Africa. Today, families living abroad can already pay fees in EDUFREM educational credits, with the school paid in local currency.

Does MAPO handle bilingual schools (French and English)?

Yes. MAPO is bilingual French-English, which is essential in Cameroon. Classes can be organised by section, report cards are generated by section, and communication with parents (SMS, WhatsApp) happens in the family's language.

Does MAPO follow local grading systems (terms, averages, ranks)?

Yes. Grades are entered by term, with automatic calculation of averages, ranks and remarks, and generation of report cards matching your school's organisation. MAPO adapts to the systems of Cameroon, Senegal and Ivory Coast.
